Since the late 1990s, Edie Steiner’s photography has focused on environmental themes and meanings of place in the rural locations of her childhood, and in the urban sites where she lives and conducts her research and creative production.

Edie Steiner’s early portraits are in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography, and published in art journals Impulse, Impressions, Image Nation, and the Art Gallery of Ontario book, EXPOSURE. Her commissioned work includes photography for artists’ projects and publication.
